Please note, moreover, that it takes up to one month longer to process applications sent by fax. This is because we wait for up to one month (from the date of receipt of the fax transmission) for a confirmation copy before processing the application further. Once this period has elapsed, we proceed with the examination on the basis of the documents on file.
There are three types of fees relating to an RCD application: registration, publication and deferment fees.
2 to 10 = €115
> 11 = €50
2 to 10 = €60
> 11 = €30
Deferment of publication *
2 to 10 = €20
> 11 = €10
* You can request the deferment of publication of a design. This enables you to maintain your original filing date without going public straightaway.
The fees payable depend on two factors
- Whether the application contains one or more designs
- Whether the publication of designs will be deferred or not
The fee structure for designs is as follows
- A basic fee for a single design or the first design of a multiple application
- A reduced fee for the 2nd to 10th designs
- A further fee reduction per design, from the 11th design onwards
The registration fee and publication fee must be paid together when the application is filed. Where the application includes a request for deferment, the deferment fee replaces the publication fee. OHIM will not issue a request for payment.
You can calculate the exact fee depending on the number of designs and whether or not deferment is requested.
