Representation before OHIM

To ensure that the Office and its clients can communicate easily, it is necessary for the Office to be aware of the correct person to contact. In some cases, owners of applications or registrations act for themselves in correspondence with the Office. In other cases, they appoint a representative to act on their behalf.

Any communication addressed to the representative by the Office has the same effect as if it had been addressed to the represented person.

Any communication addressed to the Office by the representative has the same effect as if it originated from the represented person.

No one inside the EU is compelled to be represented before the Office. However if you or your company are not based in the Community, you must be represented before the Office.
