International treaties

The RCD system coexists with national systems. A Directive was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union in 1998 in order to align the laws of the Member States relating to registered designs.

  • Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs Adopted by the Diplomatic Conference on July 2, 1999
  • Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks. Done at Vienna on June 12, 1973 as amended on October 1, 1985
