The Trade Marks and Designs Registration Office of the European Union
Current legislation on anti-counterfeiting procedures and processes is rather complex and is still based on paper declarations, and although all Member States have electronic systems, they are not inter-connected, which is the prerequisite for any attempt at interoperability. This is the prime concern of users.
The project aims to set up an electronic tool to facilitate the exchange of data between Commission services, OHIM, National offices, IP enforcement officers and right holders.
This will improve IP coordination, support enforcement authorities’ fight against counterfeiting, enable users to contribute to the defence of their rights and enhance IP protection.
