EuroLocarno is a list of products based on the Locarno Classification, the international classification for designs prepared under the aegis of WIPO. EuroLocarno has been prepared by OHIM for the purposes of classification of the products indicated in RCDs as well as in RCD applications. Over 11,000 terms are available in all the official languages of the EU.
When indicating the products in an RCD application, applicants are strongly advised to use the product terms from the Locarno Classification or from EuroLocarno in order to avoid long delays in registration procedure due to translation of submitted product terms. Additionally, by using these generic product terms whenever possible, greater transparency and searchability of the RCD databases will be possible.
EuroLocarno is currently available in a searchable format, the EuroLocarno. This is an interactive search tool that enables RCD applicants to consult the EuroLocarno list of products and their classification according to the Locarno Classification. The product terms can be searched for in each of the official EU languages.
