Vincent O’Reilly

Director of the Department for Industrial Property Policy

Background Vincent O'Reilly has been working in OHIM since April 1995. Previously he worked in various Government Departments in Dublin, of which he is a native. In the mid-1980s he was in charge of trade marks and designs in the Irish Patent Office. Immediately before taking up his post in Alicante he was head of the Intellectual Property Policy Unit in the Department of Enterprise and Employment.

He was Head of the Examination Division in OHIM up to February 2002. He is currently Director of the Department for Industrial Property Policy.

He is a graduate of University College Dublin. He has lectured widely on the CTM system and has contributed to several publications on the subject.

He is a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Academy of the European Patent Organisation.
