Reviewing service standards at OHIM

 

 

The OHIM Service Charter, which contains standards on timeliness, quality and consistency of decisions and on access to the office and its decisions, has been in existence since the spring of 2007. The office's performance with regard to these standards is closely monitored, and the results for the third quarter, which will be published shortly, show progress in a number of areas. In particular, the office's performance on oppositions has significantly improved as has the speed of publication and registration of Community trade marks.

How did you become a trade mark lawyer?
I started on 1 April 1990 as an examiner at the Danish IP office. I had recently graduated with a law degree from Copenhagen University and there was a vacancy as an examiner in the Ministry of Industrial Affairs.
