Oppositions: the task ahead

 

 

The backlog of opposition files and long processing times have long been viewed as a weakness of the Community trade mark system. However, in recent months there have been major changes in how OHIM deals with oppositions and significant progress has been made in tackling the issue. Juan Ramón Rubio Muñoz, the Director of OHIM's Trade Mark Department, outlines the strategy for dealing with the backlog and also looks at other measures being taken to improve services for trade mark users.
