OHIM and WIPO sign agreement in Barcelona

António Campinos and Francis Gurry sign new agreement in Barcelona

OHIM President António Campinos and the Director General of WIPO, Mr Francis Gurry, have today signed an agreement which will see closer cooperation between both organisations in the updating and improving of the content and functions of their existing and future databases, through the exchange of data and technical information and by sharing work for loading data on classification databases, the WIPO Global Brand database, OHIM’s TMview and design databases.

The agreement, signed in the Spanish city of Barcelona, where OHIM is hosting the first Annual Meeting of the TM5 group, and where Mr Gurry and the WIPO delegation are attending the TM5 meeting as observers, follows on from the Memorandum of Understanding signed between OHIM and WIPO in Alicante in June last year.
