Brussels workshop on Chinese trade mark system

A one day workshop on the Chinese trade mark system is being hosted by OHIM in Brussels on 15 December as part of the EU-China project on IPR ( IPR 2). OHIM and the European Patent Office - the implementing agency for IPR 2 - are in charge of organising the event.

Presentations will be given by representatives from China's State Administration for Industry and Commerce, and in particular the Trade Mark Office. OHIM's President, Wubbo de Boer, will be there to open the event together with representatives from China.

OHIM is primarily responsible for activities on trade marks and designs under IPR 2 (http://www.ipr2.org) and the workshop will provide a unique opportunity for right holders to learn more on the Chinese trade mark system.

Due to the limited space, interested participants are invited to register for the event by e-mail with Jacqueline.winkelmolen@oami.europa.eu before 4 December 2009. Details, including the final venue in Brussels, will be confirmed closer to the event.
